5 Days, 1 Blowout

Here’s the scenario: you just got a great blowout or straightened your hair, but you don’t want to wash away all your hard work and mulah after only a couple days of wear. Plus, over shampooing hair is unhealthy for your tresses. Yet, your hair will only look good down for a couple days before that “freshly styled” appearance goes away.

What’s a gal to do? We have your solution to rocking the same blowout for 5 days.

Day 1: You just spent time and money to either straighten your hair on your own or at a fancy salon for a blowout. Good for you! Way to look beautiful and strut your fine tresses down the streets of NYC. Enjoy your fresh hair!

Day 2: Your blowout is still fresh, but a day old. Use a little dry shampoo to soak up any oils that have accumulated either naturally or from your daily trip the gym. Dry shampoo will not only revitalize your style, but will also give your strands a fresh “just washed” scent.

Day 3: Your blowout probably isn’t looking too hot wearing it down at this point, but it’s perfect texture for a great ponytail. Gently tease roots at the crown to give some lift, and add two elastics to give your tail more emphasis. Here’s how to do it.

Day 4: It may be time to add some more dry shampoo, especially if your hair seems greasy. If your hair is on the dry end, add a little serum to ends for smoothness and shine. Today’s style is all about the braid. Try a cute fishtail like the one above.

Day 5: You finally made it! Congrats on making your blowout last! Now that you have great texture and your hair is a little dirty, it’s ideal for a fabulous updo.  There are so many great updo tutorials on the SalonPulse Pinterest page. Here’s one of our favorites.
